Instrument Profile

Key Fund Facts

  • The Jupiter Global Sustainable Equities Fund is an actively-managed, unconstrained global equities fund, with fully integrated strategic environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) considerations.

  • The fund is managed by Abbie Llewellyn-Waters.

  • The fund looks to invest in high-quality companies that are leading the transition to a sustainable world economy. The stock-selection process embeds ESG criteria that help to assess the intrinsic risk of a company and the long-term sustainability of the business from a financial, environmental and social perspective.

  • Abbie and the team have a long history of ESG investing and actively engage with companies on issues including gender equality, societal contribution and the environmental impact of operations.

What is the investment objective?

The objective of this fund is to provide a return, net of fees, that is higher than that provided by the MSCI AC World Index over the long term (at least five years).

The fund is unconstrained and will invest globally. Managed by Abbie Llewellyn-Waters, the fund looks to invest in high-quality companies with sustainable businesses in financial, environmental and social terms. The fund manager also takes into consideration alignment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the transition to a low carbon economy.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals and carbon impact

A focus on companies leading the transition to a sustainable world economy helps to align the portfolio to both the objectives of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (“UN SDGs”) and to the transition towards a low carbon economy. The fund’s alignment to these goals is not targeted; rather, the goals inform the ethos of the fund and are a consideration when constructing the portfolio. Additionally, the team believes it is important to communicate to investors about how the fund’s capital is allocated in relation to the UN SDGs and efforts to lower carbon in the economy, information about which is included in an annual impact report.

What is the investment policy?

At least 70% of the Fund is invested in shares of companies which offer the potential for growth and that meet the Funds environmental, social and governance (‘”ESG”) considerations based anywhere in the world. Up to 30% of the Fund may be invested in other assets, including shares of other companies, open-ended funds (including funds managed by Jupiter and its associates), cash and near cash.
